The Tarot Garden

The Tarot Garden (Il Giardino dei Tarocchi) is a sculpture garden based on the esoteric tarot, created by the French artist Niki de Saint Phalle in Capalbio, province of Grosseto.

Niki de Saint Phalle, inspired by Antoni Gaudí´s Parc Güell in Barcelona and Parco dei Mostri in Bomarzo decided to make something similar in design for her monumental sculpture park based on the Tarot. She built the Giardino dei Tarocchi, containing twenty-two monumental figures representing her idea of the greater Mysteries of the tarot, constructed of reinforced concrete and covered with mirrors and ceramic mosaic.
PS: the figures can be walked through!

Malbacco natural pools

In Malbacco the show of the river, the jumps of the water and the pools are impressive. There are many basins in Malbacco but the best known is a big one – it’s a 10-meter-high waterfall that some people dive into. The water is crystalline and the waterfall is surrounded by lush vegetation.

To reach Malbacco, follow the directions for Pietrasanta, than for Vallecchia. Then follow the road along the river, cross a bridge and turn right. After Corvaia, Seravezza, and Riomagno, you’ll find Malbacco.

caffe
Un caffè per favore!

Italians love coffee! Do you know them all? ☕

Cappuccino
an espresso with some warm, frothed milk (served in a large cup).

Caffè Macchiato
espresso with warm frothy milk (in a small cup).

Decaffeinato
Decaffeinated coffee (espresso).

Caffè corretto
Espresso with a dash of liqueur like Grappa or Sambuca.

Caffè freddo
Ice cold coffee, a summer treat: an espresso with ice cubes and sugar. Or a „caffè shakerato“ : the ingredients are mixed in a cocktail shaker until the drink is nice and frothy. Served in a flute or wine glass!

Filter coffee doesn’t exist in Italy. But if you feel the „espresso“ is too small, you may order a caffè americano (espresso with hot water) or a caffè lungo (espresso prepared with twice the volume of water).

candalla-natural waterfalls in Tuscany
Refresh yourself with natural waterfalls in the Versilia area

In between the Alps and the Apennines in northern Tuscany, the jewel is Candalla.
Here, among ruins and fig-scented woodlands, the Lombricese stream runs over waterfalls and between natural pools. A trail starts from the old mill of Candalla and follows the stream. There are many places to stop, dive and relax in the shade of the beautiful woods.
There is also a great place that serves food on terraces and balconies overlooking the river. A great place to eat is Osteria Candalla.

Andrea Bocelli performing in Lajatico
Andrea Bocelli, Lajatico 2019

“Ali di libertà” is the title of the 14th edition of the Teatro del Silenzio.

The best of the best is in the program: a multi-sensory experience that will reinvent opera by offering the greatest composers, the most beloved songs and the most popular “classics”, presented within an innovative format that will symbolically take the audience by the hand, within spectacular moving sets that are, currently, unparalleled. It is a memorable journey, to be taken – as always – alongside Andrea Bocelli, through the places where he was born and where many of his dearest loved ones still reside.
