“Ali di libertà” is the title of the 14th edition of the Teatro del Silenzio.
The best of the best is in the program: a multi-sensory experience that will reinvent opera by offering the greatest composers, the most beloved songs and the most popular “classics”, presented within an innovative format that will symbolically take the audience by the hand, within spectacular moving sets that are, currently, unparalleled. It is a memorable journey, to be taken – as always – alongside Andrea Bocelli, through the places where he was born and where many of his dearest loved ones still reside.

The “Luminara” is a special celebration that takes place every year in Pisa on the evening of June 16th: the eve of St. Ranieri, patron of the city.
Each year about 100,000 candles are placed on wooden frames and they draw the architectural forms of churches, palaces and towers of the riversides.
Then other floating candles are put into the river Arno, and with the public lighting off, they offer a really suggestive atmosphere.
For many years, the evening ends with a series of fireworks around midnight.
Not to miss!

Simple and tasty, this is one of the most famous Italian recipes in the world.
Here you are, our recipe per four servings:
Wash, peel and chop the onion.
Place the oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Once hot, add the chopped onion and the clove of garlic, unpeeled.
Once the onion has softened, add the tomatoes cut into pieces, the basil, salt and pepper.
Cook for around 20 minutes.
In the meantime, cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling, salted water.
Drain the pasta when “al dente” and toss with the tomato sauce, then garnish with grated Parmigiano Reggiano, a fresh basil leaf and a little extra virgin olive oil. To make it even more tasty try to add a bit of olive cream.
Finally we have the date!

Lajatico, as the suffix “atico” indicates, surely has Lombard heritage, but the first settlements are much more ancient. Archaeological finds (a funeral stone, some urns, terracotta vases, etc) suggests that the village has Etruscan origins. Today it is surrounded by green Tuscan hills which are perfect for a relaxing walk and perfect to enjoy the real country atmosphere.
Although it is a small village of 1300 inhabitants, Lajatico became famous for the Teatro del Silenzio (Theatre of Silence).
It is a natural theatre framed in the hills, which remains silent for the whole year and wakes up in July when Andrea Bocelli (its honorary president who’s born and still live there) together with other international artists, gives tens of thousands of people coming from all over the world an impressive and emotional live show.
Around the theater there are works by artists such as Igor Mitorai and Arnaldo Pomodoro that make it even more beautiful.
Soon as we know the concert date of next summer we will let you know, stay tuned!
